About the role

This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

Responsibilities

  • Translate your understanding of P&ID drawings into robust Simulink control algorithms, converting cutting-edge concepts into executable, flight-ready code.
  • Collaborate closely with the simulation team to verify control models and work in tandem with the launch team to validate your software in real-world scenarios.

Requirements

  • B.S. or higher in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Aerospace, Software, or related field)
  • 2+ years of experience in the applicable industry and/or a controls-related role in a non-academic, professional setting
  • Experience with Simulink or other model-based design software
  • Experience working in a configuration managed development environment
  • Knowledge of common programming languages such as C/C++, Python
  • Hands-on experience with artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) technologies, including the ability to integrate AI-driven solutions into engineering workflows
  • Willingness to learn and work with AI model integration, deployment, and optimization

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of current AI tools and frameworks, and ability to leverage these technologies to enhance automation, data analysis, and decision-making processes within aerospace applications

  • Base Pay Range: $107,136.00 - $149,990.40 for WA applicants
