Ground and Control Services, Software Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the Ground & Control Services engineering team responsible for autonomous satellite operations
• Drive prioritization and planning across GCS projects aligning them with business goals
• Collaborate with multiple systems and program leadership to clarify requirements and priorities
• Provide architectural guidance for interfacing systems and mission-critical workflows
• Improve engineering processes including design reviews and operational readiness
• Foster a healthy on-call culture and ensure effective support for live systems
• Manage roadmap planning and resource allocation while balancing iteration with reliability

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• Minimum of eight years in software engineering with complex distributed systems
• At least two years of leadership experience in managing engineering teams
• Strong background in programming languages (Go, Python, C++) and architectural guidance
• Experience in deploying microservices in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) and Kubernetes systems
• Understanding of CI/CD, automated testing, and operational best practices
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially in cross-functional settings
