Grooming Salon Manager

About the role

We're looking for a Grooming Salon Leader to lead and manage grooming salon operations and team members. You'll deliver expert grooming services and foster a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations, ensure smooth workflows, manage inventory, and execute staffing plans
• Hire, train, and supervise a team of entry-level trainees up to professional level grooming staff, providing coaching, feedback, training, and performance evaluations
• Create and manage efficient grooming schedules, monitor salon performance metrics, and develop action plans
• Interact professionally with pet parents, provide exceptional customer service, and educate on grooming maintenance and home care practices
• Perform expert grooming services, operate and maintain grooming instruments, evaluate individual pet needs, and conduct quality checks
• Ensure the well-being and safety of pets, handle cleaning duties, and adhere to grooming policies and standards

Requirements

• 2+ years of professional grooming experience or completion of a technical grooming training program
• Strong leadership skills, 1-2 years of salon management experience preferred
• High school diploma or GED, though not required
• Expert knowledge of various dog breeds, grooming requirements, and common health issues
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills, with focus on productivity, performance, growth, and improvement
• Capable of handling pets of all sizes and temperaments with care and empathy

Pay

The salary range for this role is $15.00 - $28.00 hourly or salary, depending on location and experience. For more details, please refer to Petco Total Rewards.
