Responsibilities

• Provide professional grooming services including bathing, drying, brushing, haircuts and styling, nail trimming, ear cleaning, and gland cleaning, according to pet parent's instructions and adhering to breed standards and company policies.
• Operate and maintain various grooming instruments, ensuring the safety and cleanliness of tools and equipment.
• Evaluate individual needs of each pet, offering grooming recommendations and maintaining a clean and safe grooming area.
• Interact professionally with pet parents, addressing their grooming-related inquiries and providing timely resolutions.
• Train and support entry-level trainees in the absence of a Grooming Salon Leader.
• Ensure compliance with Petco grooming policies, standards, and guidelines to maintain safety, quality, and consistency in grooming services.

Requirements

• Successful completion of the Pet Stylist Apprentice program with Petco, or relevant experience as a professional groomer.
• High-school diploma or GED, though not required.
• Proven technical experience in grooming, including knowledge of various dog breeds, grooming requirements, and common health issues.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to execute grooming services accurately and to the highest standards.
• Genuine passion for animals and a desire to continue a career in pet grooming.
• Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays, as required by the Pet Care Center's grooming schedule.
