About the role

As a Bather/Student Groomer (Groom Tech) at Pet Supplies Plus, you’re passionate about people and their pets. You’ll provide exceptional, neighborly service while learning the skills to become a professional Groomer.

Responsibilities

• Delight Neighbors and pets with grooming services, such as brushing, bathing, and trimming nails.
• Learn and demonstrate all the skills necessary to become a groomer through the online distance program at Paragon School of Pet Grooming.
• Ensure the wellness and safety of furry patrons at all times.
• Develop long-term relationships with Neighbors by understanding their needs and recommending products and services that keep their pet healthy and happy.
• Perform routine cleaning to maintain a fun and inviting grooming environment.
• Successfully complete Safety Training certification.
• Assist store team members during grooming downtime.
• Encourage pets with positive interactions (e.g., “gimme the shake!”) and celebrate their progress.
• Get comfortable with all grooming tools and equipment.
• Learn to bathe and style dogs to breed standards.

Requirements

• Experience in retail or other industries working with pets (not required).
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to move or lift merchandise, equipment, or pets weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, bend, or stoop for extended periods of time.
• Ability to review videos and take tests online.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must pass a drug screening (in applicable states) and validated selection test.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Pay

USD $15.00–$15.50 per hour.
