About the role
Company Stockers create an exceptional customer service experience by ensuring the store is properly stocked with items for customers and providing prompt and courteous service to assist customers in locating items. Stockers can work in multiple areas including, dairy, frozen foods, and dry product areas.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with a primary emphasis on fast, friendly, and accurate service.
- Stocking shelves/units with appropriate items while ensuring conditioning and display of merchandise is done in accordance with Company standards.
- Presenting Grocery Isles so they are neat and products are clearly visible to customers.
- Ensuring sections are rotated 100% as they are stocked.
- Date checking items, removing all out of date items and placing them in the nominated area for processing.
- Isolating damaged products and placing them in the correct location for processing.
- Assisting with the receiving of items by unloading delivery trucks and placing items in the proper location in the stock area.
- Observing and correcting all unsafe conditions that could cause associate/customer accidents.
- Assisting in ensuring a clean environment throughout the store by wiping spills, sweeping floors, removing litter, mopping, etc.
- Complying with safety standards while reporting malfunctioning equipment as necessary.
- Performing additional duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Exceptional customer service skills, creating an excellent store experience by stocking shelves/units appropriately, offering assistance, and maintaining a friendly and polite attitude.
- Strong organizational skills to assist in properly and systematically arranging grocery items.
- Ability to memorize the store layout and product locations to assist with customer inquiries and efficiently locate items.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with others.
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
- Strong communication skills with both customers and coworkers.
- Knowledge of and experience complying with equipment, safety principles, practices, procedures and strategies to promote effective operations for the protection of people and property.
- Knowledge of and ability to operate equipment necessary to perform the duties of the position.
- Ability to work flexible schedules through the day, evening, and weekend shifts.
Education
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Physical requirements
This position requires heavy lifting and carrying of objects up to 100 pounds with frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching and inspecting work sites.
