Order, receive, price and stock perishable and frozen food items while building strong positive relationships with vendors. Select stock based on industry trend and understanding of inventory movement. Make decisions in conjunction with a close working relationship with the Grocery Manager. Keep the shelves consistently and abundantly stocked with rotating products. A significant amount of time is spent in the cooler, so tolerance to cold is important. Organization skills are essential! Knowledge of current trends in the natural and organic foods industry including gluten-free products is a must. Prior buying experience is preferred. A great deal of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds is a daily part of the job. The purpose of this position is to replenish-order, receive, manage inventory, and stock sub-department items while meeting objectives for sales and customer service. The Replenishment Buyers, with assistance from Marketing and Merchandising, also organize and carry out product samplings. Location: 34 Cypress St Keene, NH 03431 Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday 8am to 4pm You must be available for this schedule in order to be considered* Pay Range: Begins at 18.54 with additional compensation for experience Monadnock Food Co-op participates in E-Verify Check out our career opportunities at: https://monadnockfood.coop/our-co-op/careers/ Requirements Inventory Management Ensure all new items brought in by Merchandizing Manager are accurately entered into New Item Spreadsheet per MFC guidelines, State and Federal Programs (e.g., EBT /SNAP, WIC)Follow and maintain Department’s established discontinued practicesConsult with Department Manager about Surplus inventory or soon to be out-of-date and what to do with it. Track shrink and adjust ordering to reduce losses. Report slow-moving items to the Merchandising ManagerSee that all proper shrink procedures are followed for any unsellable items (recalled, out of date, damaged products). Participate in all inventory preparation and counts as directed by management Replenishment Ordering Meet ordering deadlines of all distributors and vendors. Monitor all delivery schedules and notify receivers of any changes. Maintain enough inventory to maximize sales and turnover, keeping overstock to a minimum. Ensure promotional product is available on any endcap displays and its home location, moving product as needed. Ensure adequate and timely supply of promoted productsIdentify suppliers and research new or alternative sources of supply in response to long-term out- of-stocks and discontinued itemsEnsure damaged, mis-picked and mis-ordered items are handled using established credit procedures Follow up to be sure that credit is received from suppliers where applicable for returned or low-quality productContinually refine plan for back-stock storage according to procedures, including proper rotation, fronting, labelling and organization in its designated place. Communicate changes or adjustments and ensure clerks understand and follow planMonitor competitors’ pricing to ensure competitive prices and make suggestions to our pricing department as needed.
