GROCERY/RECEIVING CLERK

Responsibilities

• Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment.
• Encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service.
• Collaborate and work cooperatively in a team-based environment.
• Monitor all established quality assurance standards.
• Report all safety risks or issues, and illegal activity.
• Train DSD Receiver backup.
• Ensure maximum security of receiving area.
• Practice preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Comply with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
• Stay current with advertising and inventory management.
• Process damaged/returned goods and complete paperwork.
• Check condition, accuracy, and temperature of product received.
• Maintain shipping and receiving tools.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies.
• Label, stock, and inventory merchandise.
• Resolve customer and business issues.
• Provide support and assistance through direct interaction.

Qualifications

• Minimum: Strong attention to detail.
• Desired: Receiving experience, second language skills, familiarity with industry/technical terms and processes, excellent oral/written communication skills.
