GROCERY/NIGHT CREW FOREMAN

Responsibilities

• Aid the Department Manager in organizing work, filling department staffing needs, and training/scheduling associates.
• Respond appropriately to customer or associate comments, complaints, requests, accidents, and questions.
• Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
• Use Computer Assisted Ordering (CAO) to manage ordering and ensure proper accounting of products.
• Price and display merchandise effectively, maintaining proper signage, product rotation, freshness, quantity, quality, and space allocation.
• Engage associates in merchandising techniques, customer services, product presentation, and promotional activities.
• Provide feedback on department budgets, goals, and results to the Department Manager.
• Communicate and interact positively with associates and customers.
• Maintain equipment and facilities according to company policies and procedures.
• Ensure floors, shelves, and grocery areas are clean and meet sanitary standards.
• Implement and communicate company initiatives and process improvements to direct reports.
• Manage workloads and organize tasks effectively.

Qualifications

• Willing to be flexible and work mornings, afternoons, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to make quick, intelligent decisions and handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.
• Understanding of department operations including managing people, merchandising, computer-assisted ordering, inventory management, shrink control, customer services, labor scheduling, expense control, etc.
• Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, including OSHA compliance.
• Ability to operate power machinery and use various job tools (e.g., power jacks, box cutters, label guns, balers, compactors).
• Previous grocery retail experience and/or backup manager experience preferred.
• Past work record reflecting dependability and integrity.
