Grocery Night Clerk w/PIC Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages customers to return.
• Aid the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals.
• Maintain quality assurance standards.
• Embrace the Customer 1st strategy and encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service.
• Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
• Handle stressful situations effectively.
• Show basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Communicate effectively.
• Have retail experience.
• Speak, read, and write a second language.
• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment that makes customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated.
• Answer questions about products sold within the department and throughout the store.
• Inform customers of grocery specials.
• Recommend grocery items to customers to ensure they get the products they want and need.
• Check product quality to ensure freshness and take appropriate action.
• Label, stock, and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.
• Maintain proper temperatures in cases and coolers and ensure temperature logs are maintained.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identifying unsafe conditions.
• Notify store management of any safety risks/issues and illegal activity, including robbery, theft, or fraud.
• Perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

• Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Effective communication skills.
• Desired: retail experience, second language (speaking, reading, and/or writing).
