Grocery Night Clerk

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages customers to return.
• Aid the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals and monitor quality assurance standards.
• Embrace the Customer 1st strategy and encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service.
• Demonstrate company core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
• Handle stressful situations effectively.
• Show knowledge of basic math, effective communication skills, and second language abilities (if applicable).
• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an inviting environment for customers, answer questions about products, and recommend items.
• Monitor product quality, check sell-by dates, and report discrepancies to the manager.
• Stock, label, and inventory department merchandise; ensure freshness and proper temperatures.
• Report product ordering/shipping issues and safety concerns to management.
• Stay updated with store promotions, adhere to food safety guidelines, and practice preventive maintenance.
• Report all safety risks, illegal activities, and accidents to management.

Qualifications

• Minimum ability to handle stressful situations.
• Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Effective communication skills.
• Desired retail experience.
• Desired second language abilities (speaking, reading, writing).
