About the Role
This part-time position (24–27 hours per week) is based in Somerville, MA, covering a territory within a 40–60 mile radius. The Grocery Merchandiser will manage their assigned territory by completing store visits, surveys, and tasks, using provided technology for reporting and photo uploads. The role requires physical tasks such as merchandising, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Sell, merchandise, and gain/maintain product distribution within a variety of accounts.
- Ensure clients' products are well-stocked; order products if inventory is low or out of stock.
- Use mobile apps for reporting, photo uploads, task completion, and communication.
- Switch between tasks such as stocking, reporting, and communicating with store teams throughout the day.
- Gain and maintain product distribution by establishing strong relationships with store teams.
- Perform retail tasks including ordering products and stocking shelves.
- Conduct audits in area grocery stores and travel between locations within the designated territory.
- Verify accurate product representation on store shelves.
- Maintain a safe working environment and professional appearance while adhering to dress code and attendance guidelines.
- Stand, walk, bend, squat, and lift regularly throughout the day (up to 50 pounds).
- Work independently in a fast-paced retail environment with minimal supervision.
- Comply with store team guidelines and attend client kickoff calls and team check-ins as required.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Reliable transportation, valid Driver License, and proof of automobile insurance.
- Reliable phone (within 5 years old) with service and internet for daily communication.
- Ability to drive to stores in assigned territory to complete retail tasks and audits.
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow directions independently.
- Previous retail, sales, or merchandising experience is a plus but not required.
Pay
$22–$24 hourly, based on experience, qualifications, and skills.
