Grocery Merchandiser - Santa Cruz, CA

About the role

The Grocery Merchandiser will manage their assigned territory by completing store visits, surveys, and tasks. This position requires merchandising, consistent use of mobile apps for reporting, photo uploads, task completion, and communication, and the ability to repeatedly bend and lift up to 50 pounds. Location: Santa Cruz, CA (within a 40-60 mile radius).

Responsibilities

• Sell, merchandise, and gain/maintain distribution within a variety of accounts
• Ensure clients' products are well stocked and order if product is low or out of stock
• Switch between tasks such as stocking, reporting, and communicating with store teams throughout the day
• Gain and maintain product distribution by establishing strong relationships with store teams
• Order products and work product to shelves from new orders
• Conduct audits in area grocery stores
• Travel to and between store locations within the designated territory
• Verify that clients' products are accurately represented on store shelves
• Maintain a safe working environment while working in the stores
• Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to dress code and attendance guidelines
• Stand, walk, bend, squat, and lift regularly throughout the day
• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Work in a fast-paced, retail environment with minimal supervision
• Comply with additional guidelines established by the Store Team
• Attend client kickoff video calls and team check-ins as required

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Reliable transportation
• Valid Driver License
• Proof of Automobile insurance
• Reliable phone (within 5 years old) with service and internet for daily communication
• Ability to drive to stores in assigned territory to complete retail tasks & audits at local grocery retailers
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow directions independently
• Previous retail, sales, or merchandising experience is a plus (but not required)

Schedule

Part-time, 25 hours per week with steady and consistent scheduled working hours and available route flexibility.

Pay

$22 hourly, paid drive time at $0.70 per mile, and a monthly phone stipend.
