GROCERY/LIQUOR LEAD

Responsibilities

• Aid the Department Manager in organizing work, filling department staffing needs, and training/scheduling associates.
• Respond promptly and courteously to customer and associate comments, complaints, requests, and questions.
• Use Computer Assisted Ordering (CAO) to manage merchandise and supplies, and ensure proper accounting.
• Price and display merchandise effectively, maintaining proper signage, product rotation, and cleanliness.
• Engage in and counsel associates on merchandising, customer services, and promotional activities.
• Provide feedback on department budgets, goals, and performance to the Department Manager.
• Communicate and interact positively with associates and customers.
• Maintain equipment and facilities according to company policies and standards.
• Ensure floors, shelves, and grocery areas are clean and meet sanitary standards.
• Implement and promote company initiatives and process improvements.
• Manage workloads and organize tasks effectively.

Qualifications

• Willing to be flexible and work various shifts including mornings, afternoons, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.
• Knowledgeable about department operations, including managing people, merchandising, computer-assisted ordering, inventory management, customer services, labor scheduling, expense control, etc.
• Understanding of relevant laws and regulations, including OSHA compliance.
• Ability to operate power machinery and use various job tools.
• Previous grocery retail experience and/or backup manager experience preferred.
• Past work record reflecting dependability and integrity.
