Main Responsibilities
- Performs ordering, receiving, storing, pricing, stocking and merchandising duties.
- Aids the Grocery Manager and Third Person in planning, organizing, and directing day-to-day operations of the grocery department and front-end functions.
- Provides recommendations regarding regular and seasonal merchandise requirements and special sales needs.
- Manages the proper accounting of sales, maintains and stores cash register detail tapes, and issues and picks up money from check stands.
- Prepares a "to-do" list for night stockers, closes out discontinued items, and implements price-changing procedures.
- Controls shrinkage and prevents the sale of out-of-code products.
- Opens and closes the store and ensures compliance with Company sanitation, safety, security, and other policies.
- Implements emergency procedures in case of equipment and computer software malfunctions.
- Oversees the overall operation of the store, supervises all associates, and handles customer complaints in the absence of the Store Director and the Grocery Manager.
- Performs duties of the Receiving Clerk in the absence of the Receiving Clerk.
- Carries out all job duties with accuracy, honesty, and integrity.
- Performs other necessary and required duties as assigned.
