Grocery/Department Leader

About the role

Responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and supervising all departmental functions within a grocery setting.

Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to food safety regulations and maintain proper temperature logs.
• Report safety risks, illegal activities, and accidents to management.
• Train staff on inventory management, Computer Assisted Ordering (CAO), and performance expectations.
• Manage inventory processes, including stock organization, price updates, and discrepancy resolution.
• Assist with budgeting, profit and loss reviews, and expense control.
• Implement promotional plans, create sales strategies, and respond to customer product inquiries.
• Supervise and develop team members, conduct performance reviews, and foster teamwork.
• Maintain knowledge of products, store layout, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED; management experience preferred.
• Ability to work under pressure, resolve conflicts, and act with integrity.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
• Ability to support diverse customer needs, including minors and individuals with special needs.
