About the role

The Grocery Clerk performs duties directed by the Grocery Manager or Assistant Grocery Manager to ensure the successful operation of the Grocery Department. You will maintain high standards of customer service, professionalism, and compliance with company policies.

Responsibilities

• Stock, rotate, and dress grocery shelves
• Maintain and organize all back stock
• Keep grocery sales area, shelves, floors, and back room neat and sanitary
• Stay informed of price changes and report pricing inaccuracies to the Scan Department
• Maintain and replenish daily specials on shelves
• Verify products, shelf labels, and signs for accuracy and proper alignment
• Be present at your workstation at the start of your shift
• Comply with all safety policies and procedures
• Adhere to the Customer Service Pledge and maintain a neat, professional appearance
• Ensure regular attendance to support department function
• Follow all policies outlined in the Employee Handbook
• Perform all essential functions as designated in job responsibilities

Requirements

• Willing to work part-time and weekends
• No minimum educational requirement
• Must be at least 16 years old
• Able to calculate figures, amounts, discounts, and percentages
• Must be able to move and/or lift 75 pounds
• Able to hear, speak, and understand the spoken word
• Proficient in reading, writing, analyzing, and interpreting English
• Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and taste or smell
• Regularly required to use hands, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, and talk or hear
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, distant vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus
