About the role

As a Grocery Clerk, your role in stocking makes grocery shopping easy and enjoyable for guests. You'll help keep shelves stocked, products fresh, and the store organized—ensuring guests can find what they need quickly and easily. Your attention to detail and friendly service create a welcoming atmosphere where guests feel valued and supported. Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent guest service through friendly greetings, answering questions, and addressing concerns with professionalism and care.
  • Stock and display products, ensuring they are fresh, in-date, properly rotated, and well-stocked.
  • Assist guests in locating products on and off the sales floor, offering suggestions and alternatives when appropriate.
  • Support receiving and inventory by unloading deliveries, organizing stock, and maintaining accurate inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with the Grocery Department Manager and team to meet department goals.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitized, tidy, and well-organized department.
  • Address guest concerns with care and professionalism.
  • Ensure shelves are fully stocked by designated times.
  • Maintain regular, timely attendance and provide adequate notice for occasional absences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the team.

Requirements

  • A helpful attitude and commitment to excellent guest service.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Awareness of safety requirements and policies, including proper lifting techniques and box cutter safety.
  • Ability to operate equipment such as power jacks, forklifts, walk-behind lifts, balers, and compactors (training provided).

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Ability to stand for long periods, work in coolers, walk throughout the store, bend, stoop, and kneel regularly.
  • Full range of upper body motion to lift products.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods.
  • Functional sensory abilities for monitoring the store, creating displays, and operating equipment.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds.

Schedule

This is a part-time position with a schedule that may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays in a retail grocery store environment.

  • Weekly Pay & Premium Pay: Hourly associates are paid weekly. Part-time associates receive a $1 premium per hour on Sundays and select holidays. Full-time hourly associates receive time and a half on Sundays and select holidays.
