Grocery Associate

Job Summary

Aids the department manager in achieving sales and profit targets. Restocks products and enhances customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• % Of Time: SERVICE (70%)

  • Creates welcoming environment for customers.
  • Maintains product availability and freshness.
  • Assists customers in finding or suggesting products.

• % Of Time: LEADERSHIP (10%)

  • Promotes trust and respect among associates.
  • Communicates company and department information.
  • Adheres to local, state, and federal laws.

• % Of Time: FINANCIAL (10%)

  • Maintains inventory and reports discrepancies.
  • Ensures product quality and freshness.
  • Follows food safety guidelines and logs temperatures.

• % Of Time: COMPLIANCE/SAFETY (10%)

  • Maintains safety standards and reports hazards.
  • Executes product recalls and ensures compliance.
  • Enforces safety procedures and inspects equipment.

Qualifications

• Education: High School / GED preferred

• Experience: 0 - 3 years of supervisory experience preferred

• Language: English required, Spanish preferred

• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong customer service, interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills required.

Environmental Factors

• Working Conditions: Indoor, outdoor, cold, freezing, heated, and wet/humid environments.

• Safety Risk Factors: Twisting back and/or neck, walking on slippery or cluttered floors, exposure to hazardous equipment and substances.

• Required Equipment: Cleaning supplies, general office equipment, register, pricing gun, scales, scanner, material handling equipment.

• Preferred Equipment: Balers/compactors, box cutters.

• Personal Protective Equipment: Goggles, gloves, back brace.

• Lifting Requirement: 50 lbs.

• Travel: Occasional overnight travel.
