Grocery Associate

Job Summary

Aids the department manager in achieving sales and profit targets. Restocks products throughout the store. Enhances customer confidence and loyalty through consistent and compliant operations.

Responsibilities

• SERVICE: 70%

  • Create welcoming, valued environments to foster customer confidence and loyalty.
  • Maintain product availability, freshness, and compliance with company standards.
  • Offer product suggestions and assist customers in finding items.

• LEADERSHIP: 10%

  • Promote trust and respect among team members through collaboration and communication.
  • Adhere to local, state, and federal laws, as well as company guidelines.

• FINANCIAL: 10%

  • Monitor inventory and report discrepancies.
  • Inspect products for quality and freshness, taking corrective actions.
  • Ensure proper storage temperatures and document temperature logs.

• COMPLIANCE/SAFETY: 10%

  • Maintain safety standards and adhere to regulatory requirements.
  • Execute product recalls and ensure safe removal from customer access.
  • Report and address safety risks, incidents, and illegal activities.
  • Enforce safety protocols and train associates on safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Education

  • High School / GED preferred

• Experience

  • 0 - 3 years of supervisory experience preferred

• Skills & Abilities

  • Must be 18 years old
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills

• Physical Demands

  • Regularly stands, walks, uses manual dexterity, talks, hears, smells, and performs repetitive movements
  • Frequently reaches, carries, pushes, or lifts up to the required weights
  • Occasionally sits, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, climbs up to 30 feet, twists back and/or neck, walks on slippery or cluttered surfaces, works with hazardous equipment, and is exposed to sharp objects

  • Exposure to loud noise, skin irritants, nuisance dust, fumes, and sprays, hazardous cleaning solutions, and toxins

• Equipment

  • Access to cleaning supplies and equipment, general office equipment, register, pricing gun, scales, scanner, various material handling equipment, such as racks, carts, pallet jacks, shopping carts
