Job Summary
Aids the department manager in achieving sales and profit targets. Restocks products across the store. Enhances customer confidence and loyalty through consistent and compliant operations. Ensures fresh, appealing products and provides courteous, knowledgeable, and prompt service.
Responsibilities
SERVICE: 70%
- Create welcoming, valued, and appreciative environments to foster customer confidence and loyalty.
- Maintain merchandise according to plans. Ensure shelves are stocked with adequate quantities, freshness, and correct signage.
- Offer assistance in locating or recommending products.
LEADERSHIP: 10%
- Promote trust and respect among team members by collaborating, fostering teamwork, and sharing company and departmental information.
- Comply with all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines.
FINANCIAL: 10%
- Monitor inventory conditions and report discrepancies. Inspect products for quality and freshness, taking corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure products are stored at proper temperatures and maintain temperature logs as required.
COMPLIANCE/SAFETY: 10%
- Maintain compliance with safety, food handling, sanitation, and productivity standards. Report and assist with addressing safety hazards.
- Notify management of accidents and incidents, and report safety risks and illegal activities.
- Adhere to wage and hour policies and ensure safety training is completed.
Qualifications
Education
- High School / GED preferred
Experience
- 0 - 3 years supervisory experience preferred
Language
- English required, Spanish preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Must be 18 years old
- Ability to obtain authorization to work in the US
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check
- Strong customer service skills
- Exceptional interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills
Environmental Factors
- Physical Demands: Standing, walking, utilizing manual dexterity, talking, seeing, hearing, smelling, performing repetitive movements, reaching, carrying, pushing, lifting up to required weights, sitting, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing up to 30 ft., twisting back and/or neck, walking on slippery or cluttered floors, working with hazardous equipment, being exposed to sharp objects.
- Working Conditions: Indoor, outdoor, cold, freezing, heated, and wet/humid working conditions.
- Safety Risk Factors: Twisting back and/or neck, walking on slippery or cluttered floors, working with hazardous equipment, exposure to hazardous cleaning solutions and other toxins, loud noise, skin irritants, nuisance dust, fumes and sprays, hazardous cleaning solutions and other toxins.
- Overall Required Equipment: Cleaning supplies and equipment, general office equipment, register, pricing gun, scales, scanner, various material handling equipment, such as racks, carts, pallet jacks, shopping carts.
- Preferred Equipment: Balers/compactors, box cutters.
- Personal Protective Equipment: Goggles, Gloves, Back Brace.
- Pulling Requirement: 250 lbs.
- Lifting Requirement: 50 lbs.
