Grocery Associate

Job Summary

Aids the department manager in achieving sales and profit targets. Restocks products across the store. Enhances customer confidence and loyalty through consistent and compliant operations. Ensures fresh and appealing merchandise, provides courteous and knowledgeable service.

Responsibilities

• % Of Time: SERVICE (70%)

• Creates welcoming, valued customer environment.
• Maintains department merchandising according to plans.
• Ensures shelves are stocked with adequate product availability, freshness, and product rotation.
• Assists customers in locating or recommending products.

• % Of Time: LEADERSHIP (10%)

• Promotes trust and respect among team members.
• Communicates company and department information.
• Adheres to local, state, and federal laws.

• % Of Time: FINANCIAL (10%)

• Maintains awareness of inventory conditions.
• Inspects products for quality and freshness.
• Ensures products are stored at correct temperatures.

• % Of Time: COMPLIANCE/SAFETY (10%)

• Maintains compliance with safety, food handling, sanitation, and productivity standards.
• Executes product recalls and withdrawals.
• Notifies management of accidents and reports safety risks and illegal activities.
• Ensures adherence to wage and hour policies.
• Cultivates a safety-focused culture.
• Ensures equipment is in good repair and assists with safety hazard remediation.

Qualifications

• Education: High School / GED

• Language: English

• Experience: 0 - 3 years supervisory experience

• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong customer service, interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills; ability to work in various environmental conditions; strong physical stamina for lifting up to 50 lbs.
