Grocery Associate

Job Summary

Aids the department manager in achieving sales and profit targets. Restocks products across the store. Enhances customer confidence and loyalty through consistent and compliant operations. Ensures fresh, appealing products and provides courteous, knowledgeable, and prompt service.

Responsibilities

• SERVICE: 70%

  • Create welcoming, valued, and loyal customer environments.
  • Maintain merchandise according to plans.
  • Ensure shelves are stocked with adequate product availability, freshness, and product rotation.
  • Offer assistance in finding or suggesting products.

• LEADERSHIP: 10%

  • Promote trust and respect among colleagues by collaborating, fostering teamwork, and sharing information.
  • Comply with local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines.

• FINANCIAL: 10%

  • Monitor inventory and report discrepancies.
  • Inspect products for quality and freshness and take appropriate actions.
  • Ensure products are stored at correct temperatures and maintain temperature logs.

• COMPLIANCE/SAFETY: 10%

  • Maintain company standards for safety, proper food handling, sanitation, and productivity.
  • Adhere to regulatory compliance requirements for food safety, USDA, and COOL.
  • Execute product recalls and withdrawals promptly, securing and removing items from customer access.
  • Report and address safety risks, illegal activities, and accidents.
  • Ensure adherence to wage and hour policies.
  • Cultivate a safety-focused culture.
  • Ensure equipment is in good repair and assist with remediation of safety hazards.

Qualifications

• Education

  • High School / GED preferred

• Experience

  • 0 - 3 years minimum supervisory experience

• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Must be 18 years old
  • Authorization to work in the US or ability to obtain same
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal, motivational, and communication skills
