Grocery Assistant Department Manager

Responsibilities

• Assigns/prioritizes worker duties, schedules break periods, work hours, and vacations as needed or in the absence of the Manager.
• Affords assistance in writing game plans and plan-o-grams for merchandising the department based on ads and display profitability.
• Affords assistance with regularly scheduled departmental inventories.
• Affords assistance in training workers in store policies, departmental procedures, and job duties.
• Communicates with Buyers regarding merchandising, new product implementation and appropriate pricing.
• Promptly follows through with Buyer directions.
• Fully understands the retail label systems, communicates with Scan, General Management, and/or Buying teams to ensure correct pricing.
• Captures and operates departmental equipment.
• Works to resolve incorrect information and ensure correct pricing.
• Functions as a working manager willing to perform all tasks necessary to assure the smooth operation of the division.
• Maintains and operates departmental equipment.
• Works to resolve incorrect information and ensure correct pricing.
• Assists with ordering supplies and merchandise from approved vendors.

Requirements

• Previous managerial/grocery experience required.
• Previous power experience required (electric jack, rider jack, lift, etc...).

Qualifications

• The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel or crouch; talk and/or hear.
• The employee must be at least 18 years old.
