Grinding & Deburring Operator

Key Responsibilities

• Perform grinding, deburring, and edge-finishing operations using hand tools, power tools, and automated equipment.
• Remove burrs, sharp edges, and imperfections from sheet metal parts to meet customer and industry standards.
• Ensure consistent surface finishes according to blueprints, work instructions, and quality requirements.
• Carry out visual and tactile inspections of finished parts to verify smooth edges and defect-free surfaces.
• Use calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to confirm dimensional accuracy.
• Identify and report any defects, inconsistencies, or process improvements to supervisors.

Qualifications

• Education and Experience: 1+ year of experience in grinding, deburring, or metal finishing within a manufacturing environment preferred. Experience working in precision sheet metal fabrication is a plus. High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Sills & Competencies: Proficiency with hand grinders, deburring tools, and finishing equipment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and quality standards. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Good manual dexterity and ability to handle small precision parts. Strong work ethics and ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Requires standing for extended periods, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 lbs., and performing repetitive tasks.
• Exposure to metal dust, noise, and varying temperatures in a production environment.
• Regular interaction with production, engineering, quality, and management teams.
• Use of PPE (gloves, safety glasses, respirators) required.
