About the role

Phoenix Country Club, a Troon property in Phoenix, AZ, seeks a friendly, service-oriented Greeter to create a positive first impression in the Dining Room. This role is ideal for someone eager to contribute to a fast-paced hospitality environment and grow within a global leader in golf and community management.

Responsibilities

  • Greet incoming and departing guests warmly with a genuine smile and eye contact; escort guests to assigned tables; present menus; announce waiter’s name
  • Control the flow of work by seating guests in station rotation while maintaining guest lists
  • Monitor guests’ needs throughout the dining experience and ensure high-quality service (e.g., refill drinks while seating another guest)
  • Remain visible on the dining room floor and accessible to guests, staff, and management
  • Check all tables daily before service to ensure proper settings
  • Assist with side work and support service staff with bussing tables as needed
  • Communicate guest requests and concerns to the department manager
  • Follow safe work practices and maintain regular, reliable attendance

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Upbeat, outgoing, and positive demeanor with strong multitasking ability

Preferred Requirements

  • One or more years of prior experience in hospitality or customer service
  • Proven exemplary customer service skills
  • Passion for providing extraordinary service
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Physical Demands

  • Frequently stands, walks, talks, and hears
  • Occasionally sits, reaches with arms and hands, tastes, smells, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls
  • Regularly lifts up to 10 pounds
  • Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions
  • Moderate noise level

  • Ability to read and speak English to communicate with guests and co-workers
  • Ability to carry natural conversation with guests without sounding scripted or intrusive
  • Attention to cleanliness and safety
  • Legible handwriting
  • Patience and customer-oriented approach
  • Ability to read menus
  • Ability to articulate clear greetings and farewells to guests and understand requests for assistance
  • Ability to clearly communicate guests’ needs to servers, bussers, managers, etc.
  • Ability to hear well in a loud environment to respond to guest requests
  • Excellent people skills with a friendly attitude
  • Responsible and trustworthy
