SUMMARY
The Greenskeeper I performs a diverse range of activities involved in golf course maintenance, loves to work outdoors, is highly motivated, and detail-oriented. In this role, the Greenskeeper I will play a key part in creating a world-class golfing experience for our guests and will perform routine labor involved in golf maintenance, construction, and related work. They will be working closely with different members of our team, so quick thinking and an engaging attitude will be core abilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Operates powered mowing equipment and small hand tools.
- Course set-up
- Performs all the following tasks, including but not limited to, mowing greens, tees, fairways, rough, raking bunkers, weed eating, fly mowing, edging, sweeping, backpack blowing, shoveling, trimming and hauling plant material.
- Removes and lays sod, seeds, fertilizes and top dresses.
- Aid with construction projects requiring manual labor.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be 16 years of age with a valid Driver's license and satisfactory MVR.
- Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s.
- Ability to perform these operations using units of US currency and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Valid Driver’s License and satisfactory MVR for 3 years.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, push or pull.
- The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, climb, or balance, and taste and smell.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
- Specifically, vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, Toxic or caustic chemical, and extreme heat or cold.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
