Job Summary
Bloomberg Businessweek is seeking a visual journalist who specializes in creating compelling charts and maps for print and digital platforms.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop visually engaging charts and maps that accurately represent data
- Collaborate with editors to select the most appropriate chart type for articles
- Work closely with journalists, copy editors, art directors, and other visual journalists to refine and improve chart designs
- Pitch original ideas for charts and map-based stories
About the Role
The ideal candidate will have a passion for data visualization and a strong portfolio showcasing their work in charts and maps.
Requirements
- Experience in creating charts and maps for publications or similar media
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar tools
- Strong understanding of data visualization principles and best practices
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with various team members
Qualifications
- College degree in graphic design, journalism, or related field
- At least 2 years of professional experience in data visualization
