About the role
The UAF Geophysical Institute is seeking a graphic designer/technical illustrator to develop a variety of print and digital communication products.
Responsibilities
- Develop highly technical and scientifically accurate, complex illustrations;
- Create data-driven maps;
- Create infographics that translate science concepts;
- Craft research proposal figures;
- Prepare reports and scientific journal articles;
- Create digital presentations;
- Create large-format displays;
- Create brochures and information sheets;
- Create K-12 lesson plans;
- Create books and booklets;
- Create other publications as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree related to visual communications or equivalent (2 years) professional experience in graphic arts, digital illustration or other relevant field.
Qualifications
- Advanced skill with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign;
- Microsoft PowerPoint and/or Google Slides;
- Well versed in meeting accessibility compliance standards.

- Excellent customer service skills;

- Collaborates with faculty and staff;
