Graphic Designer/Technical Artist - GI Design Services

About the role

The UAF Geophysical Institute is seeking a graphic designer/technical illustrator to develop a variety of print and digital communication products.

Responsibilities

• Develop highly technical and scientifically accurate, complex illustrations;
• Create data-driven maps;
• Create infographics that translate science concepts;
• Craft research proposal figures;
• Prepare reports and scientific journal articles;
• Create digital presentations;
• Create large-format displays;
• Create brochures and information sheets;
• Create K-12 lesson plans;
• Create books and booklets;
• Create other publications as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree related to visual communications or equivalent (2 years) professional experience in graphic arts, digital illustration or other relevant field.

Qualifications

• Advanced skill with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign;
• Microsoft PowerPoint and/or Google Slides;
• Well versed in meeting accessibility compliance standards.
