Graphic Designer (Student)

About the role

To assist the University Marketing and Communication team with graphic design projects. This includes creating digital and print materials that align with university brand and/or campaign guidelines, such as social media graphics, event flyers, posters, illustrators, and other projects as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Create digital and print materials aligned with university brand and campaign guidelines
• Design social media graphics, event flyers, posters, and illustrations
• Complete other assigned design projects

Requirements

• Currently enrolled at Coastal Carolina University pursuing a Bachelor’s degree program in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Visual Communication Design, or related field
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
• Familiarity with Canva
• Understanding of basic design principles (typography, color, composition)
• A portfolio showcasing design samples (academic or personal work)

Qualifications

• Previous experience with design projects (classwork or volunteer work is acceptable)
• Strong work ethic, creativity, and willingness to learn
• Experience in motion graphics, web design, social media graphics, and/or photography is a plus

Skills

• Basic understanding of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
• Basic understanding of Canva
• Ability to take direction and apply feedback to improve design work
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Good time management skills to balance multiple tasks and deadlines
• Effective written and verbal communication
