Graphic Designer / Production Specialist
About the Role
We are launching a brand-new, state-of-the-art FASTSIGNS center in Coeur d’Alene and are looking for a Founding Graphic Designer who wants to be a "Maker"—someone who takes pride in the entire journey from a blank Adobe Illustrator artboard to a high-fidelity, finished physical product.
In most shops, "fast" means "chaos." In our shop, "fast" means optimized. Our design and production area is unhurried, organized, and intentional, guided by a veteran owner with a proven track record. You’ll master our brand-new, FASTSIGNS-exclusive Epson printer fleet and Mutoh plotters, seeing your work move from the screen, through the printer, and into the real world. We protect your creative space so you can focus on excellence, with a sales team trained to set realistic expectations.
Responsibilities
- Master our optimized workflow and Epson/Mutoh equipment fleet within your first 90 days.
- Serve as the engine of our production area, confidently taking a client's concept and turning it into a finished, high-quality sign with minimal outside input.
- Participate in morning huddles to stay ahead of deadlines and build a reputation for excellence.
- Prep files in Adobe Illustrator for flawless physical output, ensuring precision in paths, vectors, and production-ready designs.
- Operate high-end printers and plotters, apply graphics, and handle physical production tasks with meticulous attention to detail.
- Maintain a calm, organized workspace and contribute to a team environment built on curiosity and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of professional experience as a Graphic Designer or Production Artist.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator as your "second language," with deep knowledge of paths, vectors, and file prep for physical output.
- A "Maker" mindset—enjoyment of hands-on work such as weeding vinyl, operating printers, and ensuring every edge is perfect.
- Strong attention to detail, valuing precision and integrity in your craft.
- High emotional intelligence (EQ), thriving in a calm environment and collaborating effectively with the team.
- Curiosity and a willingness to learn, ask for assistance, and take meticulous notes to ensure projects are done right the first time.
- Joy in the physical creation process, from leaning over a production table to transforming raw materials into finished products.
Benefits
- Competitive salary ($22.00 - $26.00 per hour) + performance bonuses.
- Monthly health stipend.
- Paid vacation and holidays.
- All-expenses-paid, one-week professional training in Carrollton, TX (if hired before May 1st).
- Access to brand-new, state-of-the-art equipment.
- A family-owned, mentor-driven culture with growth opportunities.
