About the role
The Graphic Designer II develops design direction and material for internal and external communications projects that align with company design guidelines. This position produces a variety of communications items, including signs, posters, printed brochures/flyers, electronic communications, presentations, T-shirts, and more. Additionally, the role assists with asset archives, including layouts, photographs, graphics, textual documents, multimedia, web pages, and digitized files.
Responsibilities
- Assists with the production and graphic design of the customer magazine (Duncan Debrief), company employee newsletter, advertisements, and other print and digital marketing communications projects.
- Organizes media assets, including converting file formats, scanning, retouching, resizing, color correcting, determining optimal file types, delivering files to requestors, and archiving media files, photographs, and graphics.
- Oversees and art-directs creative development of direct marketing pieces, developing concepts, reviewing materials, and creating comprehensive layouts for publication.
- Visually communicates products or services to appeal to target audiences within time and space constraints.
- Takes photos, coordinates photography with external resources, and creates graphics for marketing and advertising materials.
- Obtains competitive bids for projects and interfaces with outside agencies for design, photography, and print production.
- Supervises production stages, including arranging and supervising printing.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of three years of experience in communications, marketing, and/or graphic design.
- Previous aviation communications experience preferred.
- General database software knowledge.
- Basic knowledge of HTML and CMS systems preferred.
Skills
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), QuarkXPress, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Experience with printing, photography, and media management processes.
