Graphic Designer
About the role
Our creative team builds identity systems and the everyday work that lives inside them. We're hiring a Graphic Designer who can move fluently from a brand exploration on Monday to a print-ready trade-show booth on Friday — and treat both with the same level of craft. You'll work alongside strategists, art directors, and motion designers on accounts where the design is held to a real commercial bar, not just an internal review.
A day in the life
Monday is concept work — three directions for a new identity, presented at end of day. Tuesday you're extending a system: social templates, pitch deck, an email header set. Wednesday is a press check; Thursday you're prepping artwork for a campaign launching the following week. Friday you sit with the art director for a craft review and a planning session for what's on deck.
What you'll own
- Concept and execute design across brand, campaign, social, print, and product surfaces.
- Build and extend design systems — type, color, grid, components, motion principles.
- Prepare and supervise print-ready files end to end, including press checks where needed.
- Partner with strategists and copy on integrated campaigns, not just isolated assets.
- Mentor junior designers through craft feedback and clear, written reviews.
What success looks like
- Work ships on time, in spec, and survives client review without losing the original idea.
- The design systems you extend get easier to use over time, not harder.
- Senior team members trust you to run pieces of work end to end without hand-holding.
What you bring
- Must-haves:
- A portfolio that shows both conceptual range and production craft.
- Fluency in Figma plus the Adobe Creative Cloud suite.
- Real production print experience — bleeds, color, finishes, vendors.
- Strong typographic instincts and an opinion about hierarchy.
- Bonus points:
- Motion or After Effects fluency.
- Experience designing inside or for design systems used by engineering teams.
Compensation
Salary band $68,000 – $82,000 / year. Final offer depends on experience, qualifications, and internal equity. We benchmark against the Canadian agency market each year and share banding openly. Reviews happen annually and at promotion.
Benefits
- Competitive salary — transparent banding, benchmarked against the U.S. agency market and reviewed annually.
- Performance bonus — annual bonus tied to company and personal goals, written down at the start of the year, not invented at the end.
- Extended health & dental — comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage for you and your dependents from day one.
- Mental health support — confidential EAP plus a dedicated mental-health benefit for therapy, coaching, and crisis support.
- Flexible PTO + paid sick days — generous paid time off plus separate paid sick days so you can rest without trade-offs.
- 13 paid holidays — all statutory holidays plus your birthday and a floating day to use whenever it matters.
- Hybrid by design — two anchor days a week in the studio, the rest of the week wherever you do your best work.
- Home office stipend — a one-time setup stipend plus a monthly allowance for tools, internet, and workspace.
- Professional development — annual learning budget for conferences, courses, books, and certifications.
- Paid volunteer time — paid hours every month to contribute to causes and communities you care about.
- RRSP matching — employer matching on your retirement contributions from your first day.
- Parental leave top-up — top-up on Employment Insurance benefits for new parents, for any path to parenthood.
