What You'll Do The graphic designer serves an important role as a visual communicator in the Michigan Medicine Office of Development. Most of this role is devoted to creating and editing print assets to a high standard and in alignment with Michigan Medicine brand guidelines. This involves working primarily with the communications team (writers, editors, project managers, and others) as well as gift officers, event directors, stewardship directors, and other development professionals.The graphic designer may also work with printers and other vendors outside of Michigan Medicine.The graphic designer should be comfortable managing several projects on various platforms and juggling multiple deadlines and the needs of multiple stakeholders. Part of this role is helping with the design of Medicine at Michigan, a Design Office of Development, print assets including proposals, impact reports, newsletters, brochures, event invitations, banners, and other fundraising materials.Manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously with different stakeholders and deadlines.Align print design assets with Michigan Medicine brand standards and strategic communications goals.Work closely with the communications team's project manager to ensure projects are on time and all stakeholders are aware of project status.Acquire, organize, and manage photos and other assets.Make sure all assets meet Michigan Medicine and ADA accessibility guidelines.Help with the design of Medicine at Michigan magazine.Assist the communications team as needed. Required Qualifications* Bachelor's degree required, preferably in graphic design, communications, or a related fieldAt least 3 years of design experience, with some experience designing for printExpertise in Adobe Creative Suite products (especially InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat)Excellent communication skillsExcellent organization and self-management skillsCandidate must have access to reliable internet Desired Qualifications* Writing and/or communications experienceInterest in development and philanthropy Modes of Work Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work Locations The on-site location for this position is an office suite in the 777 Building. This provides free on-site parking for staff, including covered parking.
