About the Role
Castalia Systems is seeking a Senior Graphic Design/Editor to produce graphic design content, cartographic products, and interactive web content using Government-specified technology. Responsibilities include creating video and audio content, providing design consultation for DIA analysts, and developing templates and marketing materials in accordance with DIA standards. The role involves collaboration with service requesters to ensure customer satisfaction, with a goal of 90 percent positive survey responses.
The Government utilizes the following tools for intelligence visualization:
- Adobe Creative Suite and Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, AfterEffects, Premiere Pro, XD, Audition)
- Maya
- MAPublisher
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Interactive graphics tools: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, d3.js, leaflet.js, Angular, TypeScript
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and use tools to provide static visualization and layout support for DIA assessments, adhering to DIA Style Manual standards.
- Create interactive and multimedia content (web-based, video, audio) to support defense intelligence needs.
- Assist Government and Contractor analysts with storyboarding analysis for multimedia presentations, replacing static PDF and print graphics.
- Develop web products with dynamic content to present real-time updated intelligence.
- Design websites for presenting finished intelligence and communicating analytic programs.
- Deliver and edit audio content for presenting finished intelligence.
- Produce templates meeting DIA design and analytic tradecraft standards for all product lines.
- Research, design, and produce thematic and reference maps in support of DIA finished intelligence.
- Implement methods to analyze user interaction with multimedia graphics and improve future designs.
- Tailor graphic design, interactive development, cartographic, and multimedia services to clarify and complement DIA’s intelligence assessments.
- Ensure less than 10 percent of final proofs contain major design flaws or conceptual deficiencies (excluding flaws caused by other stakeholders).
- Apply industry-standard design methodologies, including grid structures, typographic hierarchies, color theory, and Gestalt principles.
- Produce branding and marketing materials for the Directorate of Analysis in accordance with DIA graphical standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience, or 12+ years of experience in lieu of a degree.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, Maya, MAPublisher, Microsoft Office Suite, and modern web development tools (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, d3.js, etc.).
Work environment: Normal office setting with less than 5% travel.

Pay
The projected annual salary range for this position is $104,000 to $113,000 (USD), based on factors such as location, skills, experience, and contract-specific requirements.
