About the role
This position is based in Hawaiʻi. Candidates must currently reside in-state or be in the process of relocating back to Hawaiʻi within one month of hire. Applications from candidates who do not meet this requirement will not be considered.
Responsibilities
- Push the boundaries of creativity across a broad spectrum of projects — from print to digital, social media, video, and environmental design.
- Collaborate with a global network of creative professionals and production shops.
- Ensure that OLISC Studios’ work meets and exceeds the highest industry standards.
- Lead creative teams, elevate the overall design process, and inspire colleagues to achieve their best work.
Requirements
- A strong portfolio showcasing award-winning designs and a diverse range of successful, high-impact campaigns.
- At least 8+ years of full-time experience as a designer in a studio or agency, with demonstrated leadership and a passion for mentoring junior designers.
- An ambition that includes collaborating with top-tier designers from around the world, continuously pushing the envelope of creative possibilities.
- A proven track record of independent projects and the ability to work collaboratively with other creative professionals across various media.
- A natural ability to thrive under pressure, managing multiple deadlines while maintaining a high standard of creativity and quality.
- An exceptional communicator who can articulate ideas clearly and collaborate seamlessly with internal teams, clients, and partners.
- A strong understanding of lighting, photography, and videography to ensure designs are brought to life in the best possible way.
- The ability to manage people, projects, and budgets effectively, ensuring smooth workflows and successful outcomes.
- A passion for learning, staying ahead of design trends, and consistently seeking new opportunities to improve your craft.
Qualifications
- A college degree in Graphic Design, Media Arts, or a related field of study.
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) at an advanced level; proficiency in Premiere or After Effects is a plus.
- Proficiency in using AI tools to enhance the creative process - from concept development and ideation to production efficiency - while maintaining the craft, judgment, and originality that define great design.
- A proven ability to lead creative teams, elevate the overall design process, and inspire colleagues to achieve their best work.
