Job Summary

The Grants Program Manager leads the design, implementation, and tracking of grant activities, assisting funders in achieving public health initiatives. Responsibilities include identifying and implementing significant operating efficiencies, managing grant projects, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with investigators to identify potential funding opportunities aligning with organizational research priorities.
  • Develop proposal budgets and complete cost analysis to determine financial feasibility of research grant proposals.
  • Ensure research grant adherence to all funder guidelines and requirements.
  • Facilitate and obtain all necessary institutional approvals prior to submission.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of grant applications for completeness, accuracy, and compliance before submission.
  • Manage the submission process, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of all required documents.
  • Negotiate with funding agencies to address any questions or concerns regarding applications.
  • Manage awarded grants, ensuring compliance with all terms and conditions of the grant agreement.
  • Draft and finalize all research grant-related interagency agreements, cooperative agreements, and subaward agreements.
  • Cookbook tracking grant expenditures and support the preparation of financial reports to funders and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all grant-related activities.

Requirements

  • Required: Bachelors Degree or equivalent combination of five (5) years relevant research grants experience.
  • Preferred: Master's Degree or equivalent combination of seven (7) years relevant experience.

  • Broad understanding of grant management principles, including organizational management, outcome measurement, and budgetary oversight.
  • Outstanding problem-solving skills.

  • Deep understanding of extramural funding agency regulations and federal/state laws.
