Grants Manager - A
About the role
The Grants Manager is responsible for the management of sponsored research program funds throughout the grant lifecycle. They collaborate with investigators on proposal and budget development, compliance with University and sponsor policies, and oversee post-award activities such as financial monitoring, reporting, and expense reconciliation. They serve as a resource for faculty and staff and coordinate across areas to support effective administration.
Responsibilities
- Manage pre- and post-award research and financial administration support for individual investigators in the divisions.
- Maintain compliance with grant expenditures and take or recommend corrective actions as needed.
- Work with financial coordinator and purchasing and accounts payable to ensure appropriate expenses are allocated to grant funds.
- Oversee post-award activity for division to ensure issues are resolved in a timely and effective manner in accordance with university policy.
- Regularly review and update PI and respective research personnel costing allocations, and submit payroll reallocations as needed.
- Produce and distribute specialized research and other programmatic financial reports for investigators.
- Meet monthly to review their funds and total research portfolio.
- Aid in the preparation and submission of reports, including annual budgets and progress reports.
- Aid in the preparation and review of bi-annual effort reports.
- Collaborate with ORSS, ORS, and other departments to address/resolve administrative issues that arise with PI research-related matters.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Pay
Salary range: $65,628.00 - $71,600.00 annually. Salary offers are based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, and in alignment with salary ranges based on external market data for the job's level.
