Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Advance grant solicitations by drafting proposals, concept papers, LOIs, etc. in collaboration with other Institutional Giving staff
- Create materials, such as slide decks, for funder meetings and communications
- Review RFPs and conduct research to help identify prospective funders and prioritize realistic and high-value funding opportunities
- Maintain accurate records of funding partner contacts, grant deadlines, funder communications, etc. within Salesforce CRM database
- Maintain organized grant files, including proposals, reports, and award letters, in Development team SharePoint
- Support meeting scheduling and follow-up with funders and partners, in collaboration with the Senior Director of Institutional Giving
- Cook up grant award acknowledgements, grant payment information requests, and execution of grant agreements
- Prepare accurate, timely grant reports for public and private funders, with support from other members of the Development team
Other Duties/Responsibilities
- Gather information from internal teams to effectively describe the activities and impact related to grant funding
- Develop grant budgets in collaboration with the Fiscal team
- Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team to recognize funders and promote grant deliverables
- Support fundraising-related training and technical assistance offerings for YouthBuild program staff, as opportunities arise
- Participate in biweekly Development team staff meetings and quarterly Development Committee meetings
- Complete other duties, as assigned
Requirements
- Education & Experience Required: At least one year of grant writing, nonprofit development, or related professional experience; Associate's degree (or equivalent) or additional 1-2 years of professional experience; Experience directly engaging funders, corporate contacts, or other external partners preferred
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Able to work within diverse teams
- Proficiency with CRM database software and Microsoft Office software
- Understanding of grant budgets
- Strong organizational and project management skills

- Experience in youth development, workforce development, and/or education a plus but not required
