Duties & Responsibilities

  • Captures and processes grant applications from concept to submission.
  • Aids faculty and staff in writing grants; organizes, compiles, and analyzes data related to proposed projects; composes or edits proposals; drafts letters of inquiry, support, agreement, and commitment; provides training on development of grant proposals; and assists project directors with preparation and submission of renewal applications, grant modification requests, and reports.
  • Researches, analyzes, and identifies funding opportunities in support of CNM priorities; reviews literature on evidence-based best practices and local and national policy reports; serves as liaison with funding agencies and organizations; and disseminates necessary information to obtain funding.
  • Facilitates project development meetings; research concepts; prepares drafts for internal review; develops budgets.
  • Ensures project development is in alignment with funder procedures, policies and guidelines and that budget development is in alignment with funder and internal cost guidance and accounting principles.
  • Collaborates and supports effective grants development processes for CNM, the CNM Foundation, and CNM Ingenuity to determine funding needs and identify funding opportunities in alignment with CNM’s mission and vision and strategic goals.
  • Maintains records of grants submitted, active projects, funding needs, potential funding sources and other grant activities in an established Customer Relationship Management system.
  • Facilitates Grant Management meetings as necessary to support Principal Investigators, Grant Accountants, and Institutional Research staff during grant periods and to prepare for grant reporting.
  • Supports the development of other critical proposals and College-wide initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Two (2) years of professional experience where the major duties included professional writing, proposal development, and project management

Preferences

  • Proven grant writing experience
  • Higher education experience preferred; nonprofit experience with grant development is also acceptable
  • Strong collaboration skills, flexibility, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team are essential
