About the role
This position is open until filled. Under the general direction of the Finance Director, the Grant Writer/Administrator will strive to receive funding from different organizations and individuals by researching, drafting, and submitting proposals.
Responsibilities
- Manages grant contracts under the general guidance of the City Manager and Finance Director.
- Manages the activities of the grant, both before and after the award process.
- Reviews proposals for completeness.
- Reviews grant applications, requirements, data, and resources needed to apply for residential, commercial, industrial, and public development projects.
- Ensures compliance with grant requirements.
- Tracks progress on grant projects and prepares applicable City, State, and Federal reports.
- Provides expertise and support to City staff, departments, boards, commissions, and City Council, including evaluating alternatives and recommending courses of action.
- Assists in the preparation and updating of annual reports and budgets.
- Responds to questions from contractors, design professionals, and the public; reviews and responds to public requests and complaints; investigates issues involved and recommends appropriate actions.
- Assists in the preparation and maintenance of financial records used to verify accuracy of billing invoices relative to grant projects received from consultants and contractors; regularly updates status of project budgets.
- Prepares and files expenditure and progress reports.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with City staff, City officials, contractors, developers, other professionals, government agencies, and the public in a courteous and helpful manner, sometimes in stressful situations.
- Occasionally attends City Council and other meetings, acts as department or City representative, and serves on boards as assigned.
Pay
Salary: $90,729 - $110,302
