Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Randomly samples all incoming commodities using a mechanical probe; tests moisture content of each sample; records test results.
• Collects samples and tests flake and finished feed samples to ensure consistency; may collect samples for lab analysis.
• Maintains commodity room by sweeping, mopping, dusting, and cleaning.
• Schedules for downtime or after-hours maintenance work and necessary contract work.
• Participates in daily housekeeping, including cleaning and organizing mill work areas.
• Complies with applicable OSHA, FDA, and EPA regulations; maintains appropriate compliance records.
• Complies with applicable safety rules and policies.

Qualifications

• Mechanical abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers; able to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
• Competency expected to coordinate projects, conserve organizational resources, demonstrate understanding of Company policy, adapt to changes in the work environment, exhibit sound and accurate judgment, observe safety and security procedures, and report potentially unsafe conditions.

Physical Demands

• Frequently to Occasionally the employee is required to push/pull, reach, bend, sit, stand, climb, squat, kneel, lift, carry, twist, grasp/squeeze.
• Working with or near cattle, horses, vehicles and equipment in all weather conditions.
