Grain Operations Foreman - Insight FS - Waupun, WI

Purpose and Summary Statement

Coordinates all aspects of daily grain operations in conjunction with Location Manager and Grain Operations & Marketing Manager.

Essential Job Functions

• Provide grain quality control including, but not limited to, monthly temperature readings, fan maintenance and utilization, inbound/outbound grain rotation, account for < 5% shrink/FM outbound, average 14.7 on outbound moisture, and < 1% on outbound dockage
• Coordinate with Location Manager on grain labor needs
• Works together with the Location Manager in managing budgeted expenses, payroll, and overtime costs
• Supervise grain department employees (potentially)
• Operate and troubleshoot all grain related software for internal and external customers
• Inspects, maintains, and performs PMI on all grain equipment for safe and efficient operation
• Collects grain samples and weigh incoming and outgoing grain shipments
• Responsible for on-site grain inventory per bin and condition of grain
• Assist customers with loading and unloading of grain
• Conduct grain safety training including coordination and execution. This will include annual graining training, training on hot work permits and confined spaces
• Ensures subordinate company employees follow all company safety practices and procedures
• Keep facility maintained to meet insurance and OSHA requirements

Other Job Functions

• May be required to perform operational duties such as CDL Delivery, Dry and Liquid Fertilizer mix and load
• May be required to serve on the location Safety Committee
• Communicates professionally and provides optimal customer service
• Utilizes technology and Microsoft Office programs to enhance business processes
• Follows GROWMARK's Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply
• Performs all other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Normally requires a high school diploma or the equivalent thereof, and 2-3 years of related work experience to demonstrate the ability to provide daily leadership to all production personnel, problem-solving skills, time-management and planning skills
• Understanding and experience with production scheduling, inventory management, equipment maintenance, operation records, and expense control
• Demonstrated essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development
• Requires a Commercial Driver's License (CDL), valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
• Continuously exposed or required to extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.)
• Noisy conditions
• Working conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measures
• May be required to work at varying heights
• Confined spaces
• Lift 51-70 lbs.
• Required to push heavy objects
• Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK's policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position
