Overall Objectives and Responsibilities

• Take on diverse responsibilities to ensure facility operations run smoothly, including sample probing, commodity grading, testing, and general maintenance.
• Ensure proper flow of sample testing and grain movement.
• Act as a backup to Grain Prober/Sampler.
• Accurately report test results and provide information to grain truck drivers.
• Represent Eurofins to client companies by liaising with merchandisers.
• Communicate with grain operations manager for appropriate actions.
• Process necessary paperwork for both client and Eurofins.
• Inspect and grade grain samples promptly, using visual and computerized equipment for tests on weight, moisture, foreign material, and potential mycotoxins.
• Train incoming Grain Inspectors and evaluate their readiness for testing responsibilities.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Operate required lab equipment according to USDA grain standards.
• Respond to client, staff, and co-worker inquiries and needs.
• Stay updated on technical, industry, and business advancements.
• Recommend improvements to laboratory equipment and procedures.
• Maintain cooperative working relationships.
• Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Promote ethical business practices.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Personal Qualities: Safety-first mentality, excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, responsive and independent problem-solving, action-oriented, responsive to clients' safety and PPE requirements, proficient computer skills (preferred).
• Education Background: High school diploma or GED, with 0-3 years of experience preferred.
• Physical Requirements: Regular standing, sitting, communicating, lifting up to 15 pounds, using different types of equipment, and occasional repetitive movements. Must have reliable transportation.
• Work Environment: Quiet to moderate noise levels, laboratory setting involving dust, glassware, and close proximity to others, temperature-controlled environment, allergens present, and dust present.

Additional Information

• Compensation: $16.00-$18.00 per hour.
• Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7AM - 3PM.
