Description To cracked corn and feed to facilities and to customers in a manner that will optimize the cooperative’s market share and savings, improve the cooperative’s efficiency, help achieve the cooperative’s mission and goals, and result in outstanding customer service. Requirements Grain Handler/Truck Driver: Unload product according to delivery requestVerify product listed on the ticket is loaded and delivered correctlyTransfer product between locationsMaintain grain quality, measure, and track grain inventoryPerform basic grain handling; loading, and unloadingPerform basic mechanical maintenancePerform maintenance and repairs to equipmentAssist with feed truck driving Reporting Submit trip report to supervisor monthlyFill out trip report completely and accuratelyInform your supervisor of discrepancies in your reports as soon as you are aware of themInform your supervisor of potential problems or potential new business opportunities directly or indirectly related to your departmentReport any unsafe equipment or working conditions to your supervisorReport any needed repairs or special maintenance to your supervisor immediately Deliver Orders Safely Use extreme caution while driving in farmers’ yards; drive slowly and watch for children, pets, animals, toys, flower beds, hedges, and lawnsWatch for overhead wires when using augersAvoid damage to farmers’ buildings, bins, or property when positioning for unloadingAvoid spilling the product; clean up spillage that occursEnsure bin doors and covers are closed when delivery is completeObserve and report any unusual activity, problems, and farmers’ complaints to your supervisor Follow Regulations Observe HACCP, FDA, OSHA, state, and federal safety regulationsMaintain a valid commercial driver’s license Maintain and Operate Delivery Vehicle Safely Check lights and safety equipment dailyObey all traffic laws, including:Driving within posted speed limitsStopping and looking for traffic at all stop signsDrive defensivelyReport any unsafe equipment or working conditions to your supervisorAllow no riders who have not been approved by your supervisorWash vehicle as weather and operating conditions require to maintain a clean vehicleFollow the regular vehicle maintenance schedule provided by your supervisorReport any needed repairs or special maintenance to your supervisor immediately Safety And Compliance Uphold all cooperative policiesFollow and comply with all laws and regulations both State and FederalAttend employee safety meetings, etc. held as required or scheduled in conjunction with Safety Director or location Other Duties Perform other duties as assigned by managementReceive favorable feedback from all department managers when assigned to perform or assist with other duties and responsibilities in those departmentsAttitude consistently mirrors the company image and promotes fellow employee teamworkPresent a professional image through words, actions, and personal appearance Basic Qualifications High School Diploma, GED or equivalent combination of education and experienceGeneral computer knowledgeClass A CDL license or must be able to successfully complete the Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) when requiredAbility to work long seasonal hoursAbility to climb heightsAbility to sit for long periods of timeDetailed oriented to provide accurate and consistent workExcellent customer service skills Physical Demands To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
