Graduation Success Coach 2026-27 Rise Program at Highland Middle School
About the Role
The Graduation Success Coach serves as a critical member of a growing team of professionals committed to a 100% graduation initiative. This position focuses on high school students, working closely with students, school staff, local community organizations, and professional groups to implement the Graduation Success program for students at risk of not graduating. It requires a commitment to student advocacy, racial equity, and a deep understanding of the concerns various student populations may face, including non-traditional students, students of color, first-generation college students, and transfer students.
Responsibilities
- Coach identified students via one-on-one and small group sessions in areas related to program goals such as academics, personal growth, leadership and service, health and wellness, college and financial aid planning, etc.
- Facilitate credit retrieval through online and blended learning opportunities.
- Create and facilitate workshops for students at partner high schools.
- Collaborate with the Equity department to implement college tours, civic engagement opportunities, professional shadowing, field trips, etc.
- Coordinate and co-facilitate summer programs for identified students.
- Collect and maintain accurate and appropriate data on program performance indicators.
- Collaborate with guidance and support staff, building leaders, and in-school community partners to promote a positive college-going and civically engaged community.
- Support the organization's development strategies at events.
- Conduct regularly scheduled home visits to provide support and communication.
- Represent the organization at relevant college access and success events.
- Provide training and support for teachers.
- Perform additional duties as required, including occasional evenings and weekends.
Requirements
- A.A. Degree (2 years of industry experience can substitute for the A.A. degree).
- Preferred: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in social work, counseling, or education.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience providing case management, mentoring, wrap-around supports, or mental health services.
- Experience working with middle and/or high school students.
- Community partner experience and outreach.
- Fluent in written and verbal Spanish.
- Washington State Driver’s License required.
Knowledge
- Understands college requirements and career expectations for students.
- Understands high school graduation requirements.
- Aware of mandated reporting requirements.
- Familiarity with the communities, or those similar to, within the Bellevue School District.
- Aware of non-profit and community resources to assist students identified for support.

- Ability to perform all duties in accordance with all applicable Board policies and district and legal requirements.
- Ability to meet and maintain punctuality and attendance expectations.
Physical Requirements
- Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
- Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
- May work outdoors in inclement weather.
- May require physical mobility to move through a school campus, including up and down stairs and inside and outside.
Pay
AISP Pay Range F, $36.36/hour to $38.31/hour (starting wage is $36.36/hour) based on the negotiated collective bargaining agreement.
Schedule
20 hours per week for a 197-day annual assignment.
