About the role
The Black Box Graduate Talent Program is a structured, hands-on learning experience designed to equip recent graduates with real-world skills across various in-demand fields in technology. This program includes rotational or track-based development initiatives that provide comprehensive training and on-the-job experience in roles such as IT infrastructure and systems operations, rack, stack, and cable management, data center monitoring, and structured cabling system installation.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation and decommissioning of structured cabling and network infrastructure within a data center environment as part of supervised technical training.
- Support rack, stack, and cable management activities in accordance with industry standards, engineering guidelines, and organizational best practices.
- Monitor data center systems and environments, identifying alarms or irregular conditions, and analyzing and escalating findings under guidance.
- Learn and follow Safety, Quality, and Production standards, including applicable codes and IT infrastructure industry best practices.
- Read, interpret, and apply project design drawings, technical plans, specifications, and manufacturer installation guidelines as part of professional technical skill development.
- Gain a practical understanding of Structured Cabling System installation, testing, validation, and commissioning methodologies supporting enterprise computing environments.
- Maintain compliance with customer safety, security, quality, and site access requirements while performing assigned technical responsibilities.
- Participate in formal training sessions, shadowing opportunities, and supervised technical activities to build IT infrastructure and systems competencies.
- Document technical work performed, observations, and system-related findings as part of the learning, evaluation, and continuous improvement process.
Requirements
Applicants must be recent graduates with a strong interest in technology and a desire to learn and grow in the field. A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred, but candidates with relevant work experience may be considered.
Qualifications
Basic computer literacy, ability to work independently and as part of a team, attention to detail, and strong problem-solving skills are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with basic IT infrastructure concepts are also required.
Skills
Technical skills in IT infrastructure and systems operations, rack, stack, and cable management, data center monitoring, and structured cabling system installation are necessary. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are also important.
