About the role
The Graduate Research Fellow will support the Atacama Desert Project, an interdisciplinary research initiative examining water, infrastructure, extractive landscapes, and human settlements in Chile’s Atacama Desert.
Requirements
- Experience with GIS, Rhino, and Adobe Illustrator
- Strong skills in architectural and territorial representation
- Familiarity with Adobe InDesign is desirable
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing a coordinated visual and spatial database for the project
- Collect, organize, and process geospatial information in GIS
- Produce multi-scalar maps of hydrological systems, topography, infrastructure, mining landscapes, settlements, environmental conditions, and territorial change
- Construct selected three-dimensional territorial models and sections in Rhino
- Refine material in Adobe Illustrator, following a consistent graphic language
- Help prepare publication-quality maps, diagrams, sections, and other visual materials for academic papers, exhibitions, presentations, grant applications, and the project’s future website and book
