About the Role
This Graduate Research Assistant position under Dr. Mariam Manakkadu focuses on evaluating energy-efficient AI accelerators for machine learning systems. The role involves researching, designing, implementing, and managing software programs, as well as analyzing research literature and applying machine learning techniques.
Responsibilities
- Research, design, implement, and manage software programs
- Read, analyze, and summarize research literature
- Analyze problems and generate solutions
- Browse GitHub repositories, collect data, and apply data mining and machine learning techniques
- Write and implement efficient scripts
- Determine operational practicality of solutions
- Develop quality assurance procedures
- Deploy software tools, processes, and metrics
- Maintain and upgrade existing systems
- Work closely with other developers and the supervising professor
- Present outcomes at Celebrate Gannon and/or other college-determined venues
Requirements
- Graduate student in Computer and Information Science or related field
- Strong programming skills in Python and C/C++
- Familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills
- Excellent writing skills in English
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, autonomous environment
- Proficiency in C++, Java, and Python
