About the role
The Graduate Research Appointment (GRA) is a post-baccalaureate appointment designed for individuals interested in biomedical research. The primary goal is to offer a hands-on laboratory research experience that applies skills in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics to biomedical research, including both basic science and translational research.
Responsibilities
- Participate in selected graduate-level courses and seminars.
- Work in a laboratory setting under supervision.
- Apply skills in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics to biomedical research projects.
- Engage in ongoing learning and development through participation in educational activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with a strong background in science, technology, engineering, or math.
- Authorization to work and remain in the United States without the need for sponsorship.
- Eligibility to apply includes U.S. citizens, nationals, permanent residents, refugees, or asylees.
- Applicants must not be currently enrolled in graduate or medical school.
- Eligibility for applicants with advanced degrees above a bachelor’s degree depends on specific degree requirements.

Pay and Schedule
This position has a predetermined rate of $20.50 per hour. It is a full-time role with a 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday during business hours. Some weekend work may be possible.
